Empire:Total War has just been released by SEGA, to great critical acclaim. And why should this interest you? Well, part of the soundtrack was realized by none other than our own Piggio, and recorded with a live orchestra in London.

This is truly an epic game release, and we congratulate Lorenzo for his participation in it. We hope to have examples for you in his player before long, so make sure to check back.

So, yesterday, while the rest of the world had to make do with the Brits, a bigger and more important award ceremony was being held in Iceland. (Or not)

The Icelandic Music Awards were presented yesterday evening, and one award pleased us particularly - 'Best Song' of 2008 was written by a Medialux artist, produced by another Medialux artist, mixed by yet another Medialux artist for a singer we love to death, who also wrote the lyrics.

Oh, we almost forgot, the original version ef the song was also recorded in the Medialux studio Wömbin™ at Medialux HQ in Reykjavík.

When nothing happens here, it's usually because we are to busy making music to muck about with websites. And yes, we have been busy. 

Busy doing what, you might ask? Well, we will post them as they are released, but we have been working on 3 commercials (one of them features a metal song, finally some use for old dandruff guitars), new TV idents for RUV, Iceland's state television, a 15 minute television film, as well as supervising audio post for a popular TV series (no less than 7 episodes of 30 minutes) that suffered from, well, shitty location sound and had to be nursed to life. Name of that TV series will not be revealed here, as to protect the not so innocent. 

So, we just wanted to check in, and share a couple of nice things with you. First, Seth Godin is a favorite, and here is something he wrote about music that we like to bits. Here is a quote:

"The music industry is really focused on the ‘industry’ part and not so much on the ‘music’ part. This is the greatest moment in the history of music if your dream is to distribute as much music as possible to as many people as possible, or if your goal is to make it as easy as possible to become heard as a musician. Well, we promised to update you on the release on Eberg's new album, so here goes:

'Antidote' will see it's first release in Japan, it will be released on the 11th of February under the flag of music label Rallye. Rallye also distributed Eberg's last Album 'Voff Voff' in Japan.

Releasing an album in Japan traditionally means several bonus tracks, and specially designed artwork. Japanese fans should not have to be disappointed at all when it comes to this release. First, let's talk artwork. Renowned illustrator Ryoji Arai designed a magnificent cover for 'Voff Voff':

Luckily enough he also agreed to work on Antidote, and the result is really fun and pleasing to the eye:

The bonus tracks are exiting. Returning visitors will perhaps remember this catchy little tune, composed for Kringlan shopping mall, and sung by Rosa, known for her great work with Sometime. Well, that song now exists as a full single in a japanese version, sung by popular japanese singer Cokiyu.The new version is called 'Himitsu No Hako' which literally translates 'a box of secrets'.
