A good friend of ours, Hjörvar, just released his second solo album, entitled 'A Copy of Me'. We introduced a single from the album here recently, and sent it to our Facebook friends free of charge, to make them love us even more than they already do. We see no reason in the world why you should miss Hjörvar's splendid new music video to a song entitled 'See The Sea', that aired for the first time last week. It was directed by Sigvaldi Kárason and Björn Ófeigsson and is full of stunning imagery and post production wizardry. Which is nice. If you want to enjoy the video in better resolution and get more production details, you could do worse than to click .:here:. Hjörvar's MySpace is .:here:., and his Facebook page is .:here:. Like the music? Buy the album .:here:. |

To people born in Iceland, the song 'Móðir' (that obviously means 'mother' for you that were not born on a cold rock in the atlantic ocean:-) performed by cult rock band Egó in the eighties has a respectable place amongst the greatest songs of that period. The lyrics ask a mother where her child is late at night. Highly appropriate for a campaign to protect children from the dangers of the internet. Siminn, Iceland's biggest telecom company started airing just such a campaign yesterday. We got the challenging and fun task to make a new version of the song that would respect it's legacy, meanwhile working to bring drama and emotion to the beautiful spot, directed by award-winning directors Samuel & Gunnar for SagaFilm. All this commissioned by Siminn's agency of choice ENNEMM. It was Arnar who got the task to produce, arrange and perform the new version. We think he did a marvelous job. The result is very cinematic, and adds power and weight to the strong visual content. But instead of reading about it, just take a look and judge for yourself:
Here is a full version of the song (special extended edition for you my friend) where Arnar sings the Chorus as well: |

Today, as the first full year of business lies behind us, it is traditional to brag about our accomplishments in order to make you think we are really clever and talented.
The short version of it is that for a first year in business, it has been absolutely great. We have had the opportunity to work on great commercials, a TV film and a documentary, made music for TV idents and produced and released well received pop hits released all over the world. Our roster of talent grows constantly bigger, and our studio is a busy little spot. The new year looks promising already, with quite a few exiting projects ahead.
So we are thankful. Thank you for checking out our work, thanks to you who bought it and hired us, and special thanks to you that spread the word about our company, and our music.
Hopefully your 2009 will be filled with good music. You deserve it.

The new winter season idents for RUV, Iceland's state television channel, just started appearing on the air. The idents were commissioned a while ago, along with these, but the first batch was just now being released.
The idents were designed and produced by RUV Art Director Jakob Johannsson and motion graphics designer David Jon Ogmundsson. Basecamp's Rafn Rafnsson shot the beautiful winter landscapes. Don Pedro wrote and produced the music and designed the soundscape.
